about

Gasping For Air

uncontrollable sickness bursting at the seams
filling up with fluids, becoming so obscene
no way to drain the pus, it will puncture soon enough
covering surroundings to perpetuate the sickness

coughing non-stop
gasping for air
lungs fill with fluids
life is not fair

never seen before, but it will be seen again
everyone in proximity is now infected
when you breathe the steam it enters your lungs
everyone and everything is shit out of luck

coughing non-stop
hoping to breathe again
chances against you
you're already dead

Roadside Death Assistance

roadside assistance won't come out this far
out on the ice filled countryside
should have stayed home on this night
engine starts to seize, exhaust so dark you could choke
there is no fixing this problem, way out here in the dark
going to have to try and search in the distance for help
or on this frost filled night, you will surely die

out here on the frozen landscape
sickles dangling from the trees
an endless wasteland of nothingness
how long will it take for this to end?
miles and miles there is no farmhouse in sight
strange sounds fill the air, but what could it be
must be a hallucination brought on by the cold
a morbid vision still unconscious of deaths scold

an intimate fear with realistic consequence
if no warmth is to be found, then suffering will follow
you may lose your limbs, but first you lose your mind
you know help's not coming because nobody knows you're here

about

sumppumprecords Des Moines, Iowa

Sump Pump Records was founded in 1998 by Dan Hutchison, Brian Wiksell and Bill Heard. We released a vinyl 7" EP for Why Make Clocks in 1998 and a full-length CD for Chad O'Neall in 2000...then we got preoccupied w/our bands.

Now, it’s back to Dan and Tom Reelitz releasing records w/a DIY approach, by ourselves and other bands we love.
